Destination Conservation is a project of Elements Society, a registered non-profit operating in Alberta and British Columbia. Founded in 2003, our mission is to promote the conservation of natural resource by providing education that inspires and empowers individuals and communities towards environmental, social and economic responsibility.
Since 2003, Destination Conservation has been offered in more than 350 schools in 19 school districts in B.C. and Alberta, reaching more than 100,000 students. During the 2009 / 2010 school year, DC schools are estimated to have saved 17,000 gigajoules of natural gas and 3.7 million kilowatt hours of electricity; enough to power over 325 average North American homes for one year.
